Team 1: The Geographer, Builder, and Architect

The geographer, builder, and architect will choose the best location for the pyramid, determine the dimensions of the pyramid and how it will be built, and draw a diagram of the interior-including the entrance(s).

Team 2: The Artist, Scribe, and Cultural Adviser

The artist, scribe, and cultural adviser will design a layout of the pharaoh's tomb and plan for the inclusion of paintings, objects of art, poems of praise, records of deeds, food, personal objects, and other items.

Step 2

Research and Make Decisions

Individual members of each team will use the list of Web sites and other resources to conduct research and gather visuals for the presentation. Team members will then come together to share their research and agree on a proposal. As a team, answer the questions on the worksheet. You can use the worksheet to organize your presentation before the pharaoh.
ALERT! It is highly recommended that you visit the Evaluation section before your team starts researching and brainstorming. Knowing what the pharaoh expects of you is very important!
Step 3

Create Presentations

After each team has finalized its proposal, the two groups must come together before the pharaoh to present their reports. The architect will respectfully introduce the group. The oral presentations should include visuals such as maps, diagrams, photographs, or illustrations to help explain the proposal. Most importantly, each presenter must tell the pharaoh the reasons—the thinking-behind each recommendation.
