Task

Emperor Hammurabi has just released his code of law for all people to follow. As a Babylonian, you go about your daily life much as you did before, but you realize that the new laws will affect you. Your task is to describe your life in Babylon and determine some of the ways that Hammurabi's Code may affect you. You will be assigned to one of the following roles:

scribe student learning to be a scribe farmer soldier craftsperson

merchant upper class wife free wife astronomer medical practitioner

You will work with others assigned to the same role to research daily life in Babylon and Hammurabi's Code. You will then get together with students who have researched different roles and write a conversation that you will perform in front of the class.
