One of science fiction's best-known writers, Robert Silverberg has received numerous
honors, including the Nebula and Hugo awards. He has been a writer for over four
decades, and in this time he has produced a great body of work. He has written
hundreds of short stories, and his many longer works include Lost Race of Mars,
which was chosen as one of the best hundred children's books in 1960, the award-winning
novella Nightwings, and Lord Valentine's Castle, praised in the New
York Times Book Review for its "imaginative fusion of action, sorcery and science
fiction." His most recent novel is Starborne.
Mr. Silverberg has also written many nonfiction books on a wide range of topics,
including history, archaeology, conservation, and the natural sciences.
