Bernard Evslin
1922-1993
Multi-talented Artist Bernard Evslin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended Rutgers University. He was an award-winning screenwriter and producer of documentary films before turning to writing in the mid-1960s. Most of his retold stories deal with Greek mythology and history.
Critical Acclaim Evslin wrote more than 30 books for young people, including The Adventures of Ulysses, The Trojan War, The Greek Gods; Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths; The Green Hero, which was nominated for a National Book Award and Hercules, which received the Washington Irving Children's Books Choice Award. More than 6 million copies of his works are in print.
