The Discovery of the Titanic (p. 129)

Use the Web sites below to complete the following activity.

The grand ocean liner Titanic sank in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912, and remained lost for the next 73 years. On September 1, 1985, it was finally discovered, at a depth of 2 1/2 miles, by members of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the French oceanographic organization IFREMER. Find out what enabled these scientists to locate and explore the wreck after so many others had failed and what their efforts revealed.
