Lesson Generalization

Suffixes can be added to Latin combining forms to make complete words. The spelling may change slightly when other word parts are added, but the meaning will remain the same.

Two Latin combining forms may be joined like the two parts of a compound word. Unlike prefixes and suffixes, a combining form can be used in any position in a word.
