Lesson Generalization

Words that end with the letter c use the ending ally. Do not add ly directly to the letter c.

Mnemonic device: The "clee virus" causes words to shrivel away from loss of syllables when they are pronounced.

bas-i-cal-ly (4 syllables) becomes bas-i-clee (3 syllables)
mu-si-cal-ly (4 syllables) becomes mus-i-clee (3 syllables)

Don't catch the clees!
