Unidad 2 :
Ciudad de México, México: Ayer y hoy
Ciudad de México
Imagine that you are organizing a surprise birthday party in Mexico City for a Mexican friend. Her birthday, September 15, is historically important, because it is also Mexican Independence Day. You want to plan a party that celebrates both your friend's birthday and Mexico's independence. First, you will do some research on Mexico's September 15 celebrations to see what patriotic elements you can incorporate into your party. Then you will buy supplies for the party online and decide on a restaurant to cater the dinner you will serve at the party. You want to make your party as interesting and fun as possible, and, because your friend's parents are paying, money is no object!
Learn more about Mexican independence and organize a party in Mexico City that celebrates the country's independence and the birthday of a friend. You will need to include the following information:
- information on September 15 celebrations in Mexico
- a list of party supplies you will need
- a menu for the party to be catered by a Mexico City restaurant
Each of these will be the result of one step in your information gathering. At the end of the three steps, you will turn in your work to your teacher, who will tell you whether or not you have put together a detailed enough plan to allow your friend's parents to arrange the party.
