Imagine that your school is arranging a trip for a class of Argentine high school journalism students to visit the United States. The students are hoping to arrange an internship at a Spanish-language newspaper in the U.S., and you are helping them with their plans. Because there are many Argentineans and other Spanish speakers in Miami, you decide to bring the students there. You will need to make travel arrangements for the students to fly from Buenos Aires to Miami. You will also need to identify three possible places for them to visit while they are there. Finally, you will need to choose a Spanish-language newspaper for them to visit and try to arrange an internship. You will send this information to the students' high school, where their teacher will decide whether they should take the trip or not.

Task:
Create a detailed plan and agenda for the trip. You will need to include the following information:

  • information about flights between Buenos Aires and Miami
  • three possible museums or cultural events the students can see while in Miami
  • a short profile of a Spanish-language newspaper in Miami

Each of these will be the result of one step in your information gathering. At the end of the three steps, you will turn in your work to your teacher, who will tell you whether or not you have convinced the students' teacher to go ahead with the trip.
