On January 17, 1994, at 4:30 A.M.,
a major earthquake shook the Los Angeles metropolitan
area. Again, the damage was widespread. You'll use the
map below and seismograms from three recording stations
to locate the epicenter. The map shows freeways (labeled
yellow lines) and known faults (unlabeled lines of various
colors) in the area surrounding Los Angeles.
