Live moisture refers to the relative amount of water in plants. The higher the moisture content of plants, the less likely they will burn. Lower live moisture levels indicate dry plants that would burn more readily.

Examine the values at each site and rate the risk of fire at each from 1 to 5 based on the live moisture level. Use a 1 to indicate low potential for a fire; use 5 to indicate a high potential for fire.

4. Record your fire potential rating for each site based on its live plant moisture level.
