Writing About History: Business Writing

Business letters deal with business-related matters instead of personal matters. One type of business letter is used by employees and supervisors to convey information to each other. These letters are written with a tone and language suited to their audience. For example, a letter written from a sergeant to his commanding officer would be respectful in tone. The writer would present only the necessary information and would avoid using slang.
