In addition to different perspectives, students from other countries can benefit the economy of the host country by improving economic and social ties after they complete their studies and return home.

Application

Create a brochure in German to help attract more international students to German universities and colleges. Be sure to include information about different programs of study, the different types of institutes of higher education, and career opportunities with a German education. What are some of the benefits of studying at a German university? Talk about cultural opportunities as well as meeting people from around the world. Mention the benefit of learning a second (or third or fourth) language. Mention aspects of German life that international students might find appealing, e.g., food or sports activities. Compare your brochure with those of your classmates. Decide which one will be most effective at attracting international students and discuss why.
