Kurörte

Context

In Kapitel 8, you learned about German vacations and leisure time activities. One popular vacation destination in Germany is the Kurort, or health spa. Spas have been in use for more than 2000 years, since the Romans brought them to Germany during periods of military occupation. There are many Kurörte throughout Germany, each one offering its guests a full range of activities, as well as a chance to relax. Why might you choose to spend your vacation at a Kurort?

Application

After you have finished exploring the Web site, review your notes. What benefits do German health spas offer? With a partner, create a brochure for a Kurort emphasizing the health benefits, activities available to vacationers, and the surrounding area. Include information about overnight accommodations such as hotels. Include your own drawings or pictures from magazines or the Web.
